Self sacrifice's a b!tch... T_T

If that were me and I only have a few minutes left... I'd probably tickle the pickle one last time... just to go out with a bang. XD

Well...this is it, the final stand in Sadogashima, and as expected things just start getting worse by the minute, the overwhelming number of BETA prevents the Valkyries from heading towards the ship. Kachiagi has to face off alone against impossible odds.

Kachiagi's death in the VN was really sudden compared to the anime, the anime version is more brutal and sad, thanks to her efforts in destroying the enemy numbers Isumi had the time she needed to activate the self destruct sequence, we're gonna miss you Kashiwagi o7.

Shoutout to Captain Abe as well, come Hell or High Water he aided the Valkyries at all times and also helped a lot in buying enough time for the Susanoo Rutherford field activation.

Captain Isumi is one of my favorite characters in Alternative despite not sticking around for very long, the anime did cut a few scenes with her before the operation but we still got to see how much her presence lead to the improvement of the former 207th Squad..

Straightforward and used to hard missions, rarely loses her cool and achieves her goal no matter the cost, Isumi is the one who noticed Shirogane still had trauma and regret left in his mind (no matter if it was mostly gone), taking him for hypnotic therapy that, like we saw in this episode, never really happened. The trick worked though and helped Shirogane when fighting the BETA, when caught by surprise she also assisted him. After the final goodbyes all i can say is rest now Captain for your contribution to Alternative IV was a massive step torwads mankind's salvation. Now if you excuse me i'll be listening to "Flame of Life" on loop for a while... T__T .

This adaptation went above and beyond with Operation 21, the sense of scale, the added scenes that blended perfectly with the action and made it greater, the attention to detail with moments like the Orbital Divers Landing and the accurate display of TSF combat doctrine...i could go on for a while. Looking forward to this season's finale.

As a programmer: how you make autopilot or self-destruct sequence which takes so long to activate? facepalm.

Lancelot • 1 year ago

Activation time for autopilot wasn't the issue, it was the system being locked because Sumika is pretty much the 'OS'

vovan1 • 1 year ago

This OS design blows my mind!

Tomás Pedro • 1 year ago

The actual countdown for the explosion started at 10:29 and took 15 minutes, Susanoo's Moorcock-Letche Engine had an explosion 20 times bigger than the 2 G-Bombs dropped in the Yokohama Hive so maybe it could be the time it takes to go critical.

If this was an episode of 24 right now, then both Bai Mongfa from Love Flops and Captain Isumi deserve the "Silent Clock" treatment...

(Silent Clock) 01:59:57... 01:59:58... 01:59:59... 02:00:00

What a great way to end this part of the story, I have to say that I'm very pleased of how this anime adapted all of this arc, I can tell they were saving the very best for the end... now if only the first season had this same love and proper pacing, it would have been miles better.

Also, this is not the end of the story because it's still far from over, we still have one more episode left and that's probably going to give a glimpse of what's gonna happen in the future, so we might get the announcement of a third season next week.

1:42 Truly some creepy dangerous things.
5:31 RIP Kashiwagi.😢
10:37 Cool.
11:48 Already knew that Battleships Musashi and Yamato are from WW2, but didn't know of Heavy Cruiser Mogami, Shinano was a carrier during WW2. Series throwing in them historical shout outs.

18:21 Interesting what they are doing here, they're showing the Character name at the top, and the VA Name underneath.

22:46 Looks like a singularity. Pretty sure if they used that to wipe out the BETA hives, Earth would be inhabitable.

That's one helluva Penultimate Episode send off for Michiru Isumi, probably the best way to go as it happened so instantly. Nevertheless, RIP Michiru Isumi.😢

Really curious on how the Season Finale will end.

sabz • 5 months ago

so why did they not jsut use a G-Bomb? would have been the same result with 0 deaths

Yasir Amin • 1 year ago

Hello, can someone tell me what's the relationship between this anime and muv luv alternative total eclipse?

Roan Grahm • 1 year ago

non they are completely separate stories set in the same universe kinda like how SAO and accel world are.

Lorenz Jacob • 1 year ago

if they can make that kind of explosion why need robots and human pilot to fight beta lol

Type-94: Shiranui • 1 year ago

Oh btw, if they fight like that every time, that would be way more boring than strategizing, at least the fun part is fighting these hordes in person. People be like, that's it?

Tomás Pedro • 1 year ago

Most of humanity is fighting the BETA and attempting to infiltrate their Hives in order to retake the territories they lost, if you fire G-Bombs everywhere you'll end up with a uninhabitable planet, the places where G-Bombs are dropped will be deprived of life for centuries or even forever, and the Susanoo's explosion was 20 times stronger than the G-Bombs dropped in Yokohama Hive (But like the G-Bombs it used the same elements so the effects would be the same).

Type-94: Shiranui • 1 year ago

Exactly, that's the kind of logic most people don't think, they don't think of reclaiming the land at all.

anarekist • 1 year ago

cool explosion, wish there was more of it.

Mitsuki & Akane-chan , the rumbling in my heart 😔

eman x • 1 year ago

lol funny thing is if the can create like that sacrificial bomb (super strong and massive destruction bomb) why they wont make a bomb like that and simple drop it! Basic right hahaha

Royland Sidam • 1 year ago

They're trying to reclaim Sadogashima at first but frickin Sumika fainted and many BETA still remains, they have no choice but to destroy the whole area

Kei • 1 year ago

Lol but from some comments wasn't it takeru's fault for remembering something stupid in middle of war?. If so then it's cringe asf lol.
